Four years ago, we visited the Andaman group of islands that lies in the Bangladeshi sea (close to Myanmar, formerly Burma). The islands are covered with rainforests.

We arrived at Port Blair by Kingfisher flight from Chennai. We stayed at Fortune Resort Bay Island. Other good hotels include Peerless Resort, Sinclair’s Bay View and Hotel Megaspore Nest. Once you leave the airport, you are in a paradise of white beaches, jungle and an azure sea. In Andaman we have the 'real' holiday atmosphere. From Port Blair, we left to Havelock. It’s a paradise for divers. We stayed at Dolphin Beach Resort. Other good places to stay are Silvers and Beach Resort at Barefoot at Havelock, Jungle Resort at Wild Orchid, Island Vinnie's Tropical Beach Cabanas, Barefoot Scuba, Café del Mar, Sea Shell Resort, and so on.

Dolphin Resort is with clean and large rooms. Its location near the sea is strategically for the aesthetic tourist. Ambience there is indescribable. It elevates your spirit.

Havelock, an island bathed in beauty, is the best known among the Andaman Islands. Its attraction is mainly the diving facilities. With the glass bottom boats, you can peep into the underwater paradise. Jungle in the island also has many surprises in store for you. Take a hike and camp in the jungle. Or you can stay in one of the luxury residences there.

We had 3 days to dive. On the first day itself, we could see turtles and dolphins. Furthermore, we viewed the island on the hired scooter. We consumed just fish, beer and cocktails. We had a very enjoyable time.

Nevertheless, the last day on Havelock was an unforgettable day ... because we dived with an Asian Elephant. Swimming alongside and under such a huge animal is indescribable. We dived to 6 feet deep to swim under this gigantic animal.
