From
the beautiful beaches and famous harbour sites of Andamanisland
travels
,the lush green forests, to the sparkling waters nestling stunning
islands and enticing reefs, the sights and experiences on this tour
are colourful and diverse - An Ideal family holiday ! It was
certified by a magazine no less than The Time that the Andaman
Beach Resort
of
the Asian continent is Radhanagar
Beach
- or simply the number seven - Havelock Island, Andaman nicobar
India.
Opened
for the first time to tourists in 1995, the beach is popular with
scuba
divers and snorkelers
and those who love the untouched wilderness which covers more than 80
percent of the tropical island.
Choosing
the most beautiful beach on a vast territory, mostly untouched, was
not an easy task: Andaman archipelago, in the Bay of Bengal between
India, Burma and Thailand, has more than 570 islands and islets. Of
these, only about twenty are inhabited and even fewer are ready to
welcome the tourists, as Havelock, with resorts, hotels and a few
thatched huts.
Yet
the soft, impalpable and sparkling white sands of Radhanagar Beach,
bathed by the most beautiful shades of blue of the sea and protected
by an ancient forest of Mahua, with even thirty-meters tall trees,
leave you breathless. The white crescent of this beach sprawling over
2 km is located 10 kilometers from the tourist island of Havelock,
and can be reached aboard a colorful Tuk Tuk that runs along the only
road on the island.
Havelock
Island
is reached by catamaran from Port Blair, the main town of the Andaman
archipelago. It arrives at the port of Havelock in an hour and a
half's journey. One road connecting the two coasts: one of the
villages on the eastern and the western, more wild and fascinating.
Just walk thirty minutes to the northwest from the famous Radhanagar
Beach and you get to other beaches, all numbered according to a
legacy of British companies who traded the prized wood isolate and
classifying areas based on fields to exploit.
The
first beach that is reached is also known as the Blue Lagoon, where
the tall shrubs reach down to the sand. A little further on, we can
see the Elephant Beach, sandy beach Borotalco, protected forest and
bathed by an intense blue sea that offers the richest coral seabed of
the island.
You
can also get there by boat or walking along a path that once used the
elephants carrying the logs to the sea. Now the elephants present in
Havelock are only used for short walks to the ocean. On this side
there are also the beaches number 3:05, two strips of white sand
beach with a very quiet and equipped dive centers, which also have a
bar and outdoor cafes.
To
stay, there are the Wild Orchid Resort with the local Red Snapper,
where you can enjoy local cuisine accompanied by soothing music, and
the beach 5 villas with patio and bungalows at the resort Munjoh.
After the beach 5, we enter on a path that enters the jungle and get
to Kalapathar, beach surrounded by dark rocks contrasting gloss and
clarity of the waters of the ocean.
